ACS RECOMMENDED VETS

If unable to contact your local ACS shelter for assistance in the case of a medical emergency please ring an ACS recommended vet for further assistance.  

Vets below are recommended as experienced/knowledgeable in guinea pigs and/or specialise in guinea pigs and exotic animals.

When seeking medical attention for your guinea pig please be advised that not all vets are highly experienced in the specific field of guinea pig medical care and we cannot suggest enough to only see a vet which state to you that they have the qualifications to treat guinea pigs. If you have a local vet you use for your other pets e.g. cats or dogs, this does not mean nessessarily mean that they are the best vet to see your guinea pig. ACS use this statement purely for your guinea pigs benefit going on our own experience and reports from other members of the public. Guinea pigs are a specific area of study in which not all vets are highly qualified in.
