Your donation will help make a difference to the lives of the homeless guinea pigs being cared for at ACS Shelters.

By giving, you are helping us to be able to continue to expand and to supply aid, awareness and sanctuary to the 1000's of homeless small pets that we receive each year.

Monetary Donations

Donations are greatly appreciated and help ACS to continue our important work. Monetary donations that you generously give to ACS may help in a number of ways including:

  • Helping us to cater for the animals in our care in the way of food and medical bills and general day to day operating of our shelters.
  • Helping fund the general maintenance of our shelters including the costs of important new equipment or enclosures/sheds.
  • Helping us to educate the community by funding printing costs of educational leaflets and similar for awareness displays, school visits etc.

Whether you donate to ACS once or more regularly you will be helping us to make a difference.

Other Donations

Other than a monetary donation you could alternatively donate items to your local ACS Shelter. If you would like to donate items simply contact your local ACS Shelter via the Contact Us section on the website to speak to your local ACS Shelter Manager directly.

What can I donate?

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables (Please check with  your local ACS Shelter Manager if unsure of what type of produce to donate)
  • Fresh Hay or Chaff (Grassy, Barley, Wheaten, Pasture or Oaten). We try to avoid using Lucerne hay/chaff but will accept  and use if donated.
  • Bedding Materials (hysorb/breeders choice pine wood-shavings, shredded newspaper, solid newspapers, paper kitty litter)
  • Towels/Nappies, Puppy Training Pads, Blankets
  • Medical supplies ( e.g. syringes, Ivomectin, Malaseb or Pyohex fungal washes, Betadine, mite treatments, Revolution )
  • General Cleaning supplies (dustpans, brooms, dusters, wash cloths etc).
  • Guinea pig or other animal Organic/Natural Shampoos and Coat Conditioners.
  • Unwanted animal enclosures (cages/carriers/housing/aviaries/sheds)
  • Cage accessories such as bowls and water bottles andtoys such as stuffed animals, pipes or guinea pig timber/plastic houses.
  • Printing equipment e.g. Ink, A4 Paper

Make a monetary donation

You are able to make a donation to an ACS Shelter of your choice or you can make a general donation to the Australian Cavy Sanctuary.

A general monetary donation will go directly into the Australian Cavy Sanctuary's bank account. Donations made to this account help aid ACS in the purchasing and hire of equipment, products and other fees associated with holding essential educational and information stalls throughout the year at events and displays that ACS attend.

Upon making a monetary donation to an ACS Shelter you can state how you would like your donation to be used. Your donation will be otherwise be used in the most essential area of need the ACS Shelter Manager sees fit.

ACS accept donations in the forms of Cheque, Money Order, Cash (for small donations only) and Bank Deposit. If you require a receipt please request this upon making your donation. Please be sure that any personal details given to ACS will remain strictly confidential and will not be passed on to any other parties. Note: ACS donations are not currently tax deductible although we are in the process of gaining tax deductible status.

If you wish to make a monetary donation in person or by post to a specific ACS Shelter please contact your nearest ACS Shelter for postal address details and/or to make an appointment to visit. If you wish to make a general donation to the Australian Cavy Sanctuary please contact ACS Brisbane Shelter.
